    Robert Jordan

    The american Robert Jordan (his real name: James Oliver Rigney Jr) (1948-) started write for papers and magazines after the Vietnam war, mostly about history.
    His debut The Fallon blood (1980) is a historic novel which were published with the name Reagan O'Neal. Two sequels were published as well: The Fallon Pride (1981) and The Fallon Legacy (1982).
    Because of his interest in fantasy he got a job to write sequels to Robert Howard's books about the hero Conan - The Barbarian. It was now that Rigney started publishing books with the name Robert Jordan.
    His own fantasyseries "The Wheels of Time" started 1990 with The Eye of the World and consits of eigth volumes, to this date.
    The story consists of about a dozen main charachters and even more other charchters. Jordan has already planned the ending of the series, but he says that he needs at least three more volumes to tie everything together.
